Origins of the house

The Pulekoleva Guesthouse was built in May 2014. The name "Pulekoleva" is the name of the land which the house stands on. The house was originally where 'Isileli Kioa grew up. The only thing that has been maintained to this day is the garden, which grows some of the rarest plants found in Vava'u such as the Nukonuka, Uhi, Heilala, Langakali, Sandalwood (Ahi) and Paongo which are used for herbal remedies. The Pulekoleva Guesthouse was officially opened in August 2014.

The Guesthouse is managed by 'Isileli's children but the designing and planning of the project came into fruition thanks to his eldest daughter 'Elitisi Kioa Lokotui and husband Siupeli Lokotui. 'Elitisi better known as Tisi, resides in Tokyo Japan with her husband and son Sioeli (Keitaro). You may sometimes catch Sioeli at the Guesthouse as he's often travelling back and forth from Vava'u to Tokyo. The other siblings along with 'Isileli and his wife Fotolina reside in Melbourne Australia.
